What was Strings Attached project? / What is Mr. Steve’s Guitars and Ukuleles?

Please explore the story of Strings Attached project in the archival pages. Our blog posts have highlights, videos, photos, writings, sounds that chronicle each year starting in 2014 through the official end of the project in 2023.

The Strings Attached project began in 2009 offering non-profit  music education opportunities to neighborhood youth in American roots music through guitar, ukulele, mandolin and other stringed instruments. We served hundreds of youth  through individual lessons, small ensemble creations, summer camps, summer academies, in-school residencies, school visits and library programs. We’ve recorded four CD’s of American roots music combining student talents with local music artists. They are available to hear at Reverb Nation ~ Strings Attached project

The Strings Attached project as a youth nonprofit has ended. The project continues as songwriting,  and experimental recording venture, exploring technology, music-making and creativity.

The youth-oriented nonprofit educational project has ended, but Mr. Steve continues to provide private lessons through Zoom and partnerships with online music education tutoring learning platforms and online companies who offer music lessons in guitar and ukulele. Please explore the archives of Strings Attached activities, photos and music in the archive pages from 2009 to 2023.

Our former organizational nonprofit, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Ferguson,  decided in 2021 that we were “no longer a good fit for their community.”
